The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The Mobile Diesel Technician II can perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under the supervision of a Senior Mobile Diesel Technician or higher. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including the same systems. Inspect, test, and use handheld computers and pressure gauges to diagnose equipment malfunctions. Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and apply sound judgement. Manage parts inventory and reconcile supplies on company‑issued service truck. Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, perform safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections. Work effectively with customers to assess needs and resolve problems. Prioritise tasks, manage own schedule and time allocations. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks. Document work using an iOS device and the TRAIT application; upload pictures and findings. Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner. Work independently and manage own daily schedule. Maintain high productivity and meet most Standard Repair Times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed. Communicate with management and support team via email or phone for approvals. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health and environmental policies, OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations. Requirements High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent certification or higher). Possess a set of hand tools required for the job. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical. Possess a current and valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months validity, or provide a DOT physical if less. Must be at least 21 years of age. Maintain a valid driver’s license and Driver Qualification File. Required Certifications ASE T8 (PMI) certification. Preferred Certifications ASE T3 (Drivetrain) ASE T4 (Brakes) ASE T5 (Suspension) ASE T6 (Electrical & Electronic Systems)

The base rate may vary depending on location and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation may include commission and incentive programs.
