Fresh produce, value for money, and a uniquely positive shopping experience are the foundations on which we operate, bringing the complete shopping experience to the community.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in motivating and inspiring their team to achieve store productivity goals. They help the Store Manager to analyze week to date, period to date, and year to date sales, and develop action plans to drive top line sales. Other responsibilities include managing payroll budgets to ensure store's contribution is on target, ensuring the individual and collective skills of the team are utilized effectively, and both the staff and customer experience is positive. Effectively manages store operations, ensuring consistency and compliance. Responsibilities include hiring and training sales associates, monitoring inventory and ordering merchandise based on demand.Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programsEnsure that all store customers feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all timesAchieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environmentControl cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with store policies and proceduresFill in where needed to ensure customer service standards and efficient operationsPrepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely mannerHire and train new employees for the sales floor or other departmentEnsure that all equipment is kept clean, safe, and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programsEnsure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant's receiving policies and proceduresSchedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are metBe knowledgeable of store policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules, and proceduresFully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the store, employees and customersCarry out store marketing, advertising, and promotional activities and campaignsBe able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the store's trading areaHave knowledge of service of food and beverage, generally involving at least three years of front-of-the house operations and/or assistant management positionsResponsible for evaluating employee performance, arrange staff training, and develop programs to advance skills.Possess excellent math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS systemBe able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 poundsMust have the stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per weekMust have strong interpersonal, communication skills, the ability to stay calm, and polite under pressure.Obtain forklift certification.Preferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency degreeAt least 2 plus years of management experienceMust be able to lift up to 25 – 50 poundsAbility to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problemsAble to work well with others as a team memberA passion for serving people
