SENIOR DBA / DATA PLATFORM ENGINEER

As a Senior DBA / Data Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, maintaining, and scaling the database and data platform infrastructure that sits at the core of Sourceability’s global technology operations, ensuring data is reliable, performant, and accessible across all systems. Insight on your impact: Own the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Sourceability’s relational and non-relational database environments. Monitor and tune database performance across production and non-production environments, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks. Design and maintain data pipelines that move, transform, and deliver data reliably across systems and teams. Establish and enforce database standards, naming conventions, indexing strategies, and backup and recovery procedures. Collaborate with software engineers to review data models, query designs, and schema changes before deployment. Support the build-out of a modern data platform including data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics infrastructure. Ensure database security, access controls, and compliance with data protection requirements across all regions. Partner with the infrastructure and platform teams to support cloud-hosted and hybrid database environments. Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience as a database administrator or data platform engineer in a production environment. Deep expertise in at least one major relational database platform such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, including performance tuning and query optimization. Solid understanding of database design principles including normalization, indexing strategies, partitioning, and replication. Proven experience with backup, recovery, and high availability configurations in production environments. Experience with ETL/ELT design and data pipeline tooling such as dbt, Airflow, SSIS, or equivalent. Ability to work closely with software engineering teams to review schemas, queries, and data access patterns. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose complex data issues and communicate findings clearly. Comfortable working in a distributed, multi-timezone team with a high degree of autonomy. Preferred Skills and Technical Familiarity: Experience with cloud-hosted database services such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL. Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch. Knowledge of modern data stack tooling such as Snowflake, dbt, or Apache Airflow. Background in the electronic components, B2B technology, or global distribution industry. Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.
