Make a real impact in the lives of students as a dedicated paraprofessional supporting learners in both middle and high school settings. Two positions are available to provide essential assistance to students requiring academic support, daily care, and encouragement in their educational journeys—all within a supportive school environment near Keene, NH.
What You Bring:
- Experience working as a paraprofessional or personal care assistant in a school or similar setting.
- Comfort providing personal care, including assistance with toileting and daily activities.
- Patience and compassion when working with students with special needs, especially those who are nonverbal or on the autism spectrum.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the changing needs of students throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support an 8th-grade student with autism in a 1:1 setting, assisting with classroom activities and personal care from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (32.5 hours/week).
- Assist a small group of high school students with IEPs in the general education setting from 8:40 AM to 3:33 PM (32.5 hours/week).
- Collaborate with educators to implement individualized learning plans and behavior strategies.
- Maintain a safe and encouraging environment for all students.
- Communicate regularly with staff and families to report on student progress and needs.
- Follow all school guidelines, policies, and confidentiality requirements.
This contract position runs from late August through mid-June during regular school hours, making it ideal for someone seeking consistent weekday work in a rewarding educational role.
