Job Description\n Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking aMedical/Surgical Registered Nurse to assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. The nurse demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.Responsibilities:\n \n Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.\n Performs focused interview to identify specific patients needs.\n Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.\n Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.\n Documents the patient’s plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.\n Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements.\n Monitors consistency between patient plan of care and actions of medical staff.\n Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard.\n Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment.\n Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education.\n Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions.\n Documents patient’s response to nursing and other interventions.\n Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including establishing priorities.\n Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.\n Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the chosen facility.\n Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) the Nurse Practice Act; 2) Standards of Nursing Practice; 3) Standards of Patient Care; 4) The Joint Commission, state and local laws; 5) Patient’s Bill of Rights; and 6) Amergis Healthcare Staffing, nursing and client hospital policies.\n Other duties as assigned.\n Requirements:\n \n Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices.\n Full command of the English language, both verbal and written.\n Current Health Certificate (per facility contract or state regulation).\n Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.\n One year prior professional nursing experience preferred.\n Current BLS card.\n Successful completion of testing process.\n \n Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: \n \n Competitive pay & weekly paychecks\n Health, dental, vision, and life insurance\n 401(k) savings plan\n Awards and recognition programs\n *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status. \n About Amergis Amergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
