About the Opportunity Pragmatike is partnering with a YC-backed AI technology start-up building ambitious products at the intersection of software, intelligence, and developer tooling. We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys taking ownership of complex technical systems from architecture through production. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep backend expertise with product-minded engineering and enjoys solving challenging infrastructure and scalability problems. You’ll work closely with founders, engineering leaders, and product teams to build the systems that power next‑generation AI products, helping shape both the technical foundation and future direction of the platform. What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs powering core product functionality. Develop and ship full‑stack features from backend services through to customer‑facing interfaces. Build reliable infrastructure that supports high‑performance, real‑time applications. Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams to define and deliver new capabilities. Design systems that scale efficiently as product usage and complexity grow. Improve platform reliability, observability, monitoring, and operational tooling. Contribute to architectural decisions and long‑term technical strategy. Optimize performance, security, and developer experience across the platform. Help establish engineering best practices and contribute to a strong culture of technical excellence. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. Strong backend engineering experience building and operating production systems. Advanced proficiency with TypeScript and modern backend development practices. Experience building scalable APIs, distributed systems, and cloud‑native applications. Strong understanding of databases, data modeling, and system architecture. Experience working with real‑time systems, event‑driven architectures, or asynchronous processing. Ability to operate independently and thrive in ambiguous environments. Strong problem‑solving skills and systems‑thinking mindset. Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach to engineering. Nice to Have Experience with edge computing, serverless architectures, or distributed platforms. Exposure to AI‑powered products, LLM infrastructure, or agent‑based systems. Experience designing highly available systems that support significant scale. Familiarity with observability, monitoring, tracing, and incident management practices. Experience in startup or high‑growth environments. Full‑stack experience building customer‑facing product features. Experience helping establish engineering standards in early‑stage teams. Why Join?
