This role comes at an exciting moment of growth: Hoag is currently completing a massive expansion of our Hoag Irvine campus that will consist of a new $1.3 billion, state-of-the-art Irvine hospital campus, further expanding our regional footprint and clinical capabilities. We also have a strong and expanding referral base, with a high community need and a robust patient demand for digestive care. In addition to clinical work, Hoag is committed to building a research footprint. Hoag further supports innovation through a community-based health system, offering opportunities to adopt and evaluate new technologies that improve clinical care, patient experience, and operational efficiency.

Role Details

• Schedule: Fulltime, Monday - Friday
• Setting: Outpatient
• Location(s): Aliso Viejo and San Clemente, CA
• Conditions: General Gastrointestinal Conditions
• Team: IBD Specialists, Motility Specialists, Colorectal Surgeons, Foregut/Bariatric Surgeons, Advanced Endoscopy Providers
• Staff: Dedicated and experience support staff
• EMR: Epic
• Start Date: 2026 (Ideal)

Requirements

• Board certified or Board eligible in Gastroenterology
• Board certified in Internal Medicine 
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing and managing Gastroenterology patients and conditions
• Graduate of an ACGME-accredited training program in Gastroenterology
• California medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Current BLS and DEA
• Training in ERCP and EUS Procedures is valuable but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to compassionate, family-centered care
• Interest in clinical research, innovation, and program development
• Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary, team-based environment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient specialty care for patients with Gastroenterology conditions including: IBD, Chron’s disease, colitis, GERD, reflux disease, ulcers, and other medical conditions
• Manage care for new and established patients, screenings and follow-up appointments. Dedicated administrative time allotted
• Perform procedures including colonoscopy and endoscopy, cancer checks
• Collaborate with Primary Care and Specialists
• Contribute to program growth through collaboration, education, and innovation
• Support patients and families with clear communication, counseling, and longitudinal care planning
