Senior Auditor - (P&C Actuary)

Location Armonk, NY, US About the Role We are seeking a qualified or nearly qualified Property & Casualty actuary to join our Group Internal Audit team. As a Senior Auditor specializing in Property & Casualty actuarial topics, you will lead audits across the (re)insurance value chain, focusing on reserving, pricing, and risk management. You will evaluate control effectiveness, identify emerging risks, and engage with senior stakeholders to drive meaningful improvements and risk management practices. You will also coach and support team members while building effective stakeholder relationships and contributing to a strong, forward‑looking risk culture at Swiss Re. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver a portfolio of audits across the Property & Casualty (re)insurance value chain, owning engagements end‑to‑end and ensuring timely, high‑quality, risk‑focused outcomes. Evaluate the effectiveness of governance, controls, and risk management practices across actuarial topics, including reserving and pricing. Identify and assess key and emerging risks within the P&C actuarial domain. Engage and challenge senior stakeholders, fostering transparent and constructive discussions that support effective risk management and decision‑making. Coach and support team members while building effective stakeholder relationships. Contribute to a strong, forward‑looking risk culture at Swiss Re. About You You are a detail‑oriented Property & Casualty actuary with strong analytical skills and the confidence to challenge established practices. You excel at translating complex actuarial concepts into meaningful business insights and can communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You are passionate about risk management and eager to contribute to Swiss Re's resilience through independent, objective assessment. Requirements Nearly qualified or qualified P&C actuary 7+ years of experience in the insurance and/or reinsurance industry Strong experience in P&C reserving and/or pricing methodologies Understanding of emerging risks and trends in the P&C (re)insurance industry Solid understanding of IFRS 17 and/or US GAAP governance, processes, and controls Nice to Have Experience in internal audit or risk management functions Knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to (re)insurance companies Experience with data analytics tools and techniques Project management skills and experience leading small teams Estimated Salary The estimated base salary range for this position in Armonk, NY is $120,000 to $200,000. For Chicago/Schaumburg, IL, the range is $113,000 to $188,000. The specific salary offered will take into account location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity, specialization, and experience.
