Job Title: Packaging Operator - Manufacturing

Location: Freeport, TX

Pay Rate: $28.50/hour

Schedule: Dupont Schedule (12 hr Shift), Month of Days 7am-7pm / Month of Nights 7pm-7am. (EX: 2week period - Work Mon/Tue, Off Wed/Thur, Work Friday/Sat/Sun, Off Mon/Tues, Work Wed/Thur, Off Fri/Sat/Sun. Repeat)

Responsibilities

• Prepare packaging equipment and work areas for operation, including required PPE, paperwork, and collection of product labels.
  
  
• Package finished products to specified weights and collect samples for laboratory analysis.
  
  
• Crimp lids, inert drums, clean and inspect final drums, apply labels, stack and palletize drums, and shrink-wrap drums and pallets.
  
  
• Load drums onto refrigerated trailers and monitor trailers for proper temperature and cleanliness.
  
  
• Complete drumming records, shipping documentation, logbook entries, bills of lading, and other required records in compliance with site procedures.
  
  
• Document and report quality deviations for follow-up.
  
  
• Maintain packaging and warehouse areas according to cGMP requirements and site zoning standards.
  
  
• Operate forklifts to move materials throughout the facility.
  
  
• Inspect equipment, identify maintenance needs, and assist with equipment preparation, clearing, and LOTOTO procedures.
  
  
• Receive raw materials and other materials, inspect drums and lids, collect samples, and complete receiving documentation.
  
  
• Maintain raw material inventory using FIFO principles and monitor storage areas.
  
  
• Stage raw materials for production.
  
  
• Manage waste areas, including hazardous waste storage and satellite accumulation stations.
  
  
• Stage and label waste drums, monitor removal dates, and coordinate waste pickups.
  
  
• Monitor dump hoppers and dumpsters, dispose of metal, weigh solid waste trucks, and submit required documentation.
  
  
• Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections and submit reports.
  
  
• Participate in self-inspections, risk analyses, FMEA, RCA, safety meetings, and corrective actions.
  
  
• Maintain required training and participate in classroom and computer-based training programs.
  
  
• Support training effectiveness and assist with developing or delivering training to others.
  
  
• Follow all Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards and promote safe work practices.
  
  
• Use required PPE, safety equipment, tools, and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  
  
• Follow all SHE instructions, procedures, and applicable Life Saving Rules.
  
  
• Maintain current safety, quality, and required training.
  
  
• Report incidents, near misses, and opportunities for improvement.
  
  
• Support quality procedures, management directives, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
  
  
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
  
  
• 1+ year of experience working in a manufacturing plant.
  
  
• Forklift operation experience required.
  
  
• Warehousing operations experience required.
  
  
• Ability to follow cGMP, quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
  
  
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  
  
• Ability to operate material-handling equipment and perform physical packaging and warehouse duties.
  
  
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, housekeeping, and compliance.
