Specimen Proccessor
Labcorp
Labcorp seeks a specimen processor for their Portland laboratory to manage specimen preparation, customer communications, and database operations. The position works evenings Monday through Friday, handling biological samples and supporting lab operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, triage, accurately identify and label specimens for analysis
- Resolve customer requests via phone, email, and instant messaging
- Review test forms for accuracy and report discrepancies to appropriate parties
- Pack, ship, and store specimen samples following laboratory protocols
- Research complex issues across multiple databases and provide customer education
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly
- Pass standardized color blindness test
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and data entry
- Experience handling biological specimens in medical/clinical laboratory settings
