Field Service Technician-Amazon DTW3- Romulus, MI

Position Summary Field Service Technician will support our fuel cell products installed in electric lift trucks, performing preventative maintenance and resolving breakdowns at specific locations. Responsibilities include servicing fuel cells, reporting breakdown events, ordering parts, and maintaining fuel cells. Requires strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Core Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and service fuel cells at customer sites. Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to keep the fleet operational. Execute specialized procedures such as field retrofits, software and hardware upgrades. Provide emergency support service to customers as required. Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for service and support. Possibly troubleshoot and maintain high‑pressure hydrogen storage, delivery, and fueling systems. Maintain communication with customer personnel and hydrogen suppliers for aftermarket support. Provide feedback to regional service representatives on fuel cell performance and maintenance issues. Document administrative duties: incident reports, service logs, inventory maintenance, site and system documentation. Enforce safety procedures at the field or customer sites. Travel as required and drive safely in compliance with traffic laws. Represent Plug Power professionally in all interactions. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework. Three or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Training or education may substitute for experience. Valid driver license, clean record, ability to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications preferred. General mechanical aptitude required. Competency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and relevant software. Technical Requirements Complete required onboarding/customer site training. Create, order parts, and close‑out work orders (OJT). Use email, text alerts, expense system, service portal, and other systems. Use multimeter and clear alarms for H2 pad and dispenser. Submit accurate daily BOD and EOD reports; appropriate escalation. Demonstrate tool usage and follow standard procedures. Perform H2 pad and dispenser inspections. Non-Technical Requirements Willingness to grow, learn, and accept training and coaching. Follow all Field Service processes and procedures. Respond to off‑shift needs when required. Pay Rate $24.50 - $25.50 per hour.
