The ASM supports the Shop Manager and will assume Manager duties as needed to support a strong customer experience, staff experience, shop operational excellence, and exceeding sales goals. Responsibilities Sales & Customer Experience Collaborate with your team to exceed daily sales goals and ensure a unique and inclusive customer experience that welcomes every visitor. Educate customers and staff on brand values and our stances on animal testing, fresh cosmetics, ethical buying, 100% vegetarian, handmade, and naked packaging. Deepen product knowledge through constant learning and make informed recommendations for every need. Demonstrate strong business acumen by understanding metrics, budgets and reports and influencing them through behaviors on the floor to deliver profitable results. Team Leadership Be present on the sales floor, answer questions, remove obstacles, problem‑solve, and motivate the team to meet sales goals. Own your development, assess performance, seek feedback, and support your team’s growth through coaching and leading by example. Communicate needs and feedback to leaders and adapt to business requirements. Engage the team at all levels to foster inspiration, motivation, and strong peer and customer relationships aligned with brand values. Support recruitment, hire top-performing staff, and plan succession within your market. Collaborate with the Manager to create and execute plans that improve engagement, retention, performance, and DEIB practices. Operational Excellence Support the manager to keep the shop compliant and ensure staff practice company standards for opening, closing, product integrity, respectful workplace, health and safety, and daily communication. Train inventory team to follow fresh standards, rotation rules, and manage ordering within allocated budget. Support merchandising and design standards to maintain a clean and attractive environment that drives sales. Ensure schedules match peak times, allocate breaks and meals, and record attendance accurately for staff wellbeing and payroll. Qualifications Required 1–3 years managing or supervising in a retail environment Excellent listening and communication skills Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills Excellent organization and time‑management skills Strong customer service, supervisory, and sales skills Knowledge and interest in skincare, natural beauty and ethical business Ability to work flexible hours including holidays, evenings, and weekends Preferred Experience with consultation‑based customer service models Ability to develop and train staff through positive coaching and feedback Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Suite, and adaptability to other systems Basic HR skills in hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management Experience in cross‑cultural collaboration and DEIB or social justice training Fluency in Spanish, French, or other languages Pay: $22.47 USD – $22.47 USD (Polaris Fashion Place) Lush North America unequivocally supports equal opportunity employment for all applicants regardless of religion, race, color, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, ancestry, ability, adverse mental health, and other characteristics protected by law.
