The Opportunity

A 327-bed hospital founded in 1943, one of the largest private employers in the San Jacinto Valley, running a high-volume community ED at roughly 2.3 to 2.5 patients an hour. Three physicians plus APPs are on the schedule, so this is a department where you have colleagues rather than a radio. Residents assist with codes. Primary stroke capability and cardiac services on site. For Southern California, the cost of living here is a different world from Orange or coastal LA county.

What You'll Own

• A busy community ED with actual staffing. Three physicians plus APPs across 29 beds.
• Higher throughput than our other California sites roughly 2.3 to 2.5 patients an hour.
• Code leadership with resident assistance , which changes how a resuscitation actually runs.
• Stabilize-and-transfer decisions. No neurosurgery or cardiothoracic surgery on site, so those cases move.

Must-Haves

• MD or DO
• Active California license
• Comfort with sustained community ED throughput

Nice to Have

• ABEM or AOBEM certification
• Experience in a high-volume community department
• Paragon familiarity

What Working Here Is Actually Like

• $405,000 $420,000 annually at full-time volume (1,560 hours), independent contractor, inclusive of the RVU mix.
• Paragon with ambient AI dictation. At this volume it matters more here than anywhere else in the group.
• Malpractice and tail both covered. Tail is the one people forget to ask about until they leave.
• Three-physician coverage plus APPs you are not carrying the department alone.
• Physician-owned and physician-managed since 2012. When you escalate a problem, it reaches a physician who still works clinical shifts.
• Not a locums agency. An ongoing program position with a named, stable team.
• Southern California at a materially lower cost than Orange or coastal LA counties. Mountains, desert recreation and Temecula wine country nearby.

Straight Talk

This is the busiest of our California departments. Two and a half patients an hour with residents in the room is a genuinely full shift, and the absence of neurosurgery and cardiothoracic backup means the sickest patients still leave. If you want a quiet single-coverage ED, look at Victorville or Menifee instead. One practical warning: California does not participate in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, so if you are licensing in from another state, start that process now it is the long pole in every California hire we make, and it is the single most common reason a good candidate and a good job miss each other.
