The work involves working closely with the Software Engineering and the DevOps team in an environment comprising of a Hybrid environment with AWS Cloud.The person in this role will be responsible for the following:Accountable for: Will be Leading, designing and implementing API gateways in AWS API gateway management serviceAPI Gateway Management: Manage the API Gateway, setting up routing, managing endpoints, securing the APIs using methods like API keys or OAuth, rate limiting, and other gateway-level tasks.Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitoring the performance and usage of the APIs and troubleshooting any issues. They will need to be able to use monitoring tools provided by the cloud platform, and possibly also third-party monitoring solutions.Security Implementation: Implementing security for APIs is critical. This could involve working with OAuth, JWT, or other authentication and authorization mechanisms.Performance Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing API performance, possibly through caching, efficient data handling, or other means.Documentation and Communication: writing clear API documentation as per the provided standards and publishing for other developers/teams for reference and usage.Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Responsible for scripting and automating the deployment of APIs and their associated infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.Integration with Other Services: Work on integrating the APIs with other cloud services or with a company's internal/External systems.Keeping Up with Industry Trends: Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in API design and cloud technologies.Continued Maintenance: Monitor and troubleshoot hands-on in production systems to ensure optimal performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary improvements.Continued training: Cross train and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.Requirements:4 to 5 years of experience in overall Software Engineering4 to 5 years’ experience in designing Application integration using AWS API Gateways and maintaining them.3 to 4 years’ experience in the following: Software design and development comprising of Enterprise level API design, development, and deployment.Setting up and implementing security for APIs involving industry standard authentication and authorization mechanisms.Performance Analysis and optimization through caching, efficient data handling and or other meansKnowledgeable and had worked with industrial trends and kept up with the best practices in API design and cloud technologies.Strong expertise in infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IAC tools.Working knowledge in Atlassian toolset.Deep understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.Experience working with Agile methodologies and collaborating in cross-functional teams.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identify and resolve issues.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.About NTT DATANTT DATA is a $30 billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune Global 100.
