Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Neuro

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for a 30-bed Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery acute care unit. This night-shift role involves providing specialized patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment with a focus on neuro and ENT patients.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neuro and ENT surgical patients, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.
  
  
  -Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and respond to emergent situations with urgent interventions.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
  
  
• 
  Document patient progress and clinical findings accurately in Epic and related electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Maintain compliance with UVA policies, including float requirements and travel restrictions.
  
  
• 
  Uphold safety standards and ensure patient comfort throughout the shift.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid Virginia nursing license (pending licenses accepted with approval).
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in neuro or surgical specialty nursing.
  
  
• 
  BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
  
  
• 
  Epic electronic medical records experience is essential.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work 4x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM).
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
