Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. This position involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees while prioritizing patient and employee safety in every aspect of care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals through collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely updates on patient status at team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Engage in direct patient care utilizing the nursing process-assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate critical information regarding patient status changes to the care team for continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Foster a safe environment by adhering to safety policies and reporting risks or hazards.
• Participate in team-building activities to promote a positive and efficient work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as required and pursue professional growth through ongoing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (for CIRH only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires a Night shift schedule consisting of 3 shifts of 12 hours each.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
