Key facts Location: Port Washington, Wisconsin Engagement: Full-time Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience Visa: Sponsorship available for qualified candidates What you'll do Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Support the annual budgeting process by providing relevant financial data and analysis to management. Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information and assist in the preparation of reports for management review. Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections. Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Participate in the year-end audit process by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors. Identify areas for process improvement within the accounting function and implement best practices. Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation of financial transactions and accounting procedures. Provide support for special projects as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department. Stay current with industry trends and changes in regulations that may impact accounting practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related financial role. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions. Nice to have CPA certification or progress toward obtaining it is a plus. Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements. Knowledge of financial forecasting and modeling techniques. Experience with financial analysis and reporting tools. Skills & tools Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms). Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team. Practical notes This position is based in Port Washington, Wisconsin, and may require occasional overtime during peak periods, such as month-end close or audit preparation.
