This 199-bed, short-term acute care proprietary hospital maintains the clinical resources necessary to support a full range of interventional cardiology services on an on-site basis. The facility operates with a cardiology group that includes 5 interventional cardiologists, 4 NPs, 2 cardiovascular surgeons, 1 EP physician, and 3 general cardiologists. Clinical operations are structured to support inpatient rounding, STEMI call response, and cath lab procedure coverage.

New Mexico offers clinicians on assignment a range of regional attractions and outdoor recreation opportunities suited to varied interests. The state features diverse natural and cultural destinations, including White Sands National Park, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, and the scenic Cumbres and Toltec Railroad. Cities such as Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos, and Ruidoso provide access to activities including hot air balloon rides, walking tours, rafting, and scenic excursions throughout the region.

The interventional cardiologist will provide call-based inpatient coverage, rounding on 20-40 patients daily with the support of 1 NP. STEMI call volume is estimated at 0-3 activations per week, and the clinician may expect 0-2 calls from the house supervisor while on call. Cath lab overflow and unassigned procedures may be performed by the locum clinician as needed, with employed physicians managing scheduled cath lab procedures. Call coverage is a required component of this assignment.
