Environmental Driver Specialist CDLB

Job Overview We’re looking for experienced, professional CDL B drivers that will share our commitment to our people, partners, and planet. The driver will travel to locations on an assigned route, packing, transporting, and properly disposing of waste material in accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures. This position requires four overnight stays per week and includes paid hotel expenses and a nightly per diem. Primary Responsibilities Work on-site at various retail stores and perform two functions: (1) characterize, segregate, package, and document various types of retail hazardous waste; (2) characterize, segregate, package, and document various types of pharmaceutical waste. The position also prepares all appropriate documentation to meet State, EPA, DOT, and DEA regulations. Travel between customer retail facilities within the assigned territory. Manage retail hazardous waste and pharmaceutical waste, and characterize hazardous, regulated, and non‑hazardous waste. Process lab packs and prepare manifests and LDRs for hazardous waste shipment according to State, EPA, and DOT regulations. Maintain and manage personal expenses and travel schedules to ensure customers receive regular and timely service. Manage routes to keep compliance with 10‑day transfer schedules. Provide training and support to customers on processes, findings, and regulatory compliance. Submit written and verbal reports to customers and supervisors. Minimum Qualifications At least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED required. Hazmat endorsement preferred; candidates will be expected to obtain a Hazmat endorsement as a condition of employment after hire. Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. Able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Able to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods. Basic knowledge of Windows‑based software (Word, Excel, etc.). Willing and able to wear company‑provided personal protective equipment such as eye protection, foot protection, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator (as needed). Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Able to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and DEA background check. Preferred Qualifications Valid TWIC Card. At least one year of route driving experience. Knowledge of hazardous materials and OSHA regulations.
