Position Summary

Whitworth University is seeking two dedicated evening custodians to play a pivotal role in maintaining our beautiful campus. As a Custodian at Whitworth University, you will be an integral part of our Facilities Services team, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive campus environment. Your work will directly impact the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff, and contribute to the overall excellence of Whitworth University. There are currently no openings in the Custodial Department. This posting will remain open and recruit for future openings within the department. Candidates are encouraged to apply at any time.

Core Responsibilities

• Cleaning tasks encompass, but are not limited to, vacuuming, buffing, stripping, waxing, carpet care, and polishing across various buildings such as administrative, academic, resident halls, athletic facilities, and theme houses.
• Move furnishings, equipment, and other items as needed.
• Shovel snow and remove ice from sidewalks up to 20 feet from building entrances.
• Maintain inventory levels.
• Identify and submit work orders via electronic and/or written documentation.
• Communicate daily assignments to student workers who may work in your building.
• Provide excellent customer service to all Whitworth University constituents, including students, employees, guests, and vendors.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to use a variety of cleaning supplies, materials, and equipment to perform required duties.
• Working knowledge of custodial methods and the proper use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
• A positive and professional attitude as a member of the Custodial Services Team.
• Flexibility and curiosity to learn new tasks and procedures.
• Capable of working independently with little direct supervision.
• A commitment to applying safe work practices in all working environments.
• Six months of experience in building or institutional custodial work is preferred.
• A valid driver's license.
• SDS knowledge preferred (OSHA on how to properly handle and use cleaning chemicals).

Schedules Full-time (1.0 FTE) | 12 months | 40 hours per week Weekly Work Schedule - Monday - Friday 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM
