Retail Assistant Manager

Position Overview Supporting the Retail Manager in leading a motivated team to deliver an exceptional shopping experience for guests. The Assistant Manager helps ensure the environment is welcoming and knowledgeable for staff and guests. This role helps run smooth day-to-day operation and steps in to lead when the Retail Manager is unavailable. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support retail staff, coaching them on operations, sales technique, and customer-service standards Oversee point-of-sale operations, including cash and credit card transactions, and resolve discrepancies as they arise Manage inventory levels, including restocking, ordering, and coordinating incoming merchandise deliveries Serve as the first point of concern and ensure prompt and knowledgeable resolutions Assist with scheduling and delegating tasks to staff to maintain adequate daily operations Reduce inventory shrinkage with diligent stock management and loss prevention strategies Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook Qualifications Minimum age: 18+ Proficient computer literacy Required: 2+ years in retail work Preferred: Experience with Point-of-Sale systems Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening) Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication Physical & Practical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines Housing : 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours : 45-55 Desired Traits High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics) Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds #J-18808-Ljbffr
