What You'll Do Apply solid knowledge of reliability methods as well as power electronics to design accelerated test plans for design validation and demonstration of reliability growth Analyze field usage and environmental conditions to optimize requirement setting and test methods Generate process validation test plans to implement at suppliers. Drive root cause corrective action with suppliers to resolve production process issues. Facilitate and lead design FMEA sessions to assess product risks, determine validation test plans and drive reliable design choices Work with design, test, manufacturing quality, supplier quality, and service engineering to identify root causes and drive resolution for failures originating in testing and in the field Generate process validation test plans to implement at suppliers, and drive root cause corrective action with suppliers to resolve production process issues Provide reliability design guidelines and apply reliability lessons learned to enable continuous improvement What You’ll Bring Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience 2+ years of experience working in power electronics / high voltage laboratory testing environment (including relevant internship or academic lab work experience) PCB Board level experience with the ability to read and communicate PCBA schematics, etc. Understanding of highly accelerated testing methods and governing equations for different types of acceleration models Experience with developing reliability guidelines and inventing novel ways of reliability testing Working knowledge of reliability statistics including Weibull analysis, and experience with statistical software such as JMP, Minitab, etc. Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques such as optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross‑sectioning and EDX Self‑driven and focused individual with a proven ability to manage parallel tasks effectively, with a desire to work in a fast‑paced environment Proven ability to remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full‑time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family‑building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High‑Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short‑term and long‑term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back‑up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $91,600 - $195,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
