High School Special Education Teacher

Wattsburg Area School District is looking for a High School Special Education Teacher.

Shift: Full time, regular school schedule.

Salary Range: Minimum of $52,263 based on degree(s).

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education PK -12 (Instructional Area Code 9231) certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned students/classes the approved
• Engages students actively and meaningfully through lesson design, instruction, and
• Identifies and implements appropriate instructional practices and methods to meet students varying ability levels and special needs.
• Uses an appropriate variety and number of assessments to determine student academic
• Provides written feedback to students on assessed material on a regular
• Implements the IEP requirements of special needs
• Establishes communication with parents through a variety of means to inform them of academic and behavioral progress and achievement.
• Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations, including all mandated special education
• Develops appropriate IEPs with measurable annual goals and SDIs based on students
• Collaborates with regular education teachers and other staff to provide support, adaptations and modifications for students on their caseload.
• Attends all required special education trainings and in-services as specified by the supervisor of special education.
• Attends special education meetings (IEP/ER/RR) and building level team meetings as

Required Clearances and Documentation:

• Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances less than 1 year old
• Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training less than 5 years old
• Act 168 Sexual Abuse/Misconduct Disclosure
• Health physical less than 1 year old
• Tuberculin skin test less than 3 months old
