Experienced Associate - Investment Banking (Global Services)

Position Summary Guggenheim Securities ("GS") is seeking experienced Associates to join our Investment Banking Global Services team in Chicago. The Associate will join our highly collaborative team responsible for providing advisory services to private equity firms and corporate clients with a strong emphasis on sell‑side advisory engagements. The team focuses on high‑growth segments of the market. Associates will have the opportunity to work across our sell‑side M&A team, including with colleagues in Atlanta, Boston, London, and New York. Essential Job Functions Perform financial analyses to support advisory transactions and highlight key takeaways Carefully review and provide guidance to Analyst teammates Develop working knowledge of multiple client sectors, monitor key industry drivers and assemble insights to support and enhance advisory services and new business development initiatives Lead diligence, research, analysis and documentation of potential and live transactions Lead development of relevant marketing memoranda, diligence exhibits and transaction artifacts Anticipate potential deal challenges and elevate concerns through team members in real time Drive creation of strategic frameworks, tools and intellectual property to aid business development activities of the firm Actively participate in client meetings and drafting sessions Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete group tasks more efficiently Lean into client relationships through C‑Suite level exposure Apply understanding of macro factors related to client sectors and investment banking conduct “on the job” training, providing continuous, constructive feedback with goal of improving quality of analyst and intern work product Actively participate in recruiting and training activities Preferred Qualifications IB Analyst promoted to Associate or MBA hires with 1–2 years of relevant experience Commitment to meet the demands of high volume and high‑end client services Capable of balancing and managing multiple priorities simultaneously Effective communicator – verbal, written and virtual Highly organized project manager capable of thriving in high velocity environments Agile leader that can exercise sound judgment under pressure Curious and resourceful businessperson with strong understanding of accounting and finance Mature teammate with ability to develop relationships with senior‑level colleagues and clients Player‑Coach mentality with strong desire to mentor and train junior teammates Desire to join a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial platform Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required 4+ years of professional experience 1–3 years of prior investment banking or equivalent M&A experience Sell‑side advisory experience a plus SIE Exam, Series79 and Series63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment About Us Guggenheim Securities is the investment banking and capital markets business of Guggenheim Partners, a global investment and advisory firm.
