Job Description

Qualifications & Desired Skills:

• Valid Michigan Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility to obtain before start)
• Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in educational settings
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities when working with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Dedication to individualized student care plans and documentation
• Knowledge of current therapy practices tailored to meet school-based needs
• Adaptability and creative problem-solving in a dynamic school environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEP)
• Conduct assessments and develop intervention strategies for students with diverse needs
• Track and document progress, maintaining compliance with state and federal special education guidelines
• Collaborate with teachers, special educators, administrators, and families to support student participation and progress
• Educate school staff and families about strategies and tools to promote student access and independence within the school setting
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute expertise to IEP development and modification
