Our two-doctor practice offers routine wellness exams, medical eye care management, specialty contact lens fittings (including scleral lenses), and a thoughtfully curated optical. Beyond that, our ideal candidate is: - Organized -- You keep the optical running smoothly: orders tracked, inventory tidy, patients followed up with on time. - Detail-oriented -- You catch the small things: a frame adjustment that's almost right (but not quite), a transposition that doesn't look right on the Rx, a pupillary distance that's off a millimeter. - Patient-first -- You take time to understand what patients want, explain their options clearly, and make them feel confident in their choices. - A team player -- You pitch in, communicate openly, and make the workday better for everyone around you. - Proactively helpful -- You don't wait to be asked. You anticipate what's needed and get ahead of it. Day-to-Day Responsibilities - Guide patients through frame and lens selection with genuine enthusiasm and expert knowledge - Accurately interpret prescriptions (including complex Rxs) and recommend appropriate lens designs and materials - Take and verify measurements: PD, seg heights, vertex distance, pantoscopic tilt - Dispense and adjust eyewear -- ensuring every patient leaves with a comfortable, properly fitting pair - Manage optical orders from placement through patient pickup, including lab communication - Verify finished jobs for quality and accuracy before dispensing - Process and verify optical insurance benefits (EyeMed, VSP, etc.) - Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and eyewear care - Maintain optical inventory, displays, and frame board organization - Assist with contact lens dispensing, training, and follow-up as needed - Support front desk and clinical team when the practice is busy Benefits - Paid time off - 401(k) - Paid holidays - Quarterly team events - Team meals - Coffee treats
