Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable focusedCompensation up to $80,000 depending on experience and skills Currently Remote until April (new office being built) then the position will be Onsite with some flexibility. Local candidates only please.We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to focus on Accounts Payable to join our growing finance team. This role is responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle while supporting month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable processes, solid accounting knowledge, and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to the efficiency and integrity of financial operations.Responsibilities:Accounts Payable- Process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements accurately and in a timely manner.- Review invoices for proper approvals, account coding, and supporting documentation.- Manage weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire, and check payments.- Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with W-9 and 1099 requirements.- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding items.- Monitor accounts payable aging and assist with cash flow forecasting.General Accounting- Prepare month-end accruals related to accounts payable and operating expenses.- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including accrued liabilities and prepaid expenses.- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.- Support annual audits by preparing schedules and documentation.- Maintain accurate general ledger records in accordance with GAAP.- Participate in process improvement initiatives and internal control enhancements. Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.- 3+ years of accounting and/or accounts payable experience.- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.- Experience working with ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Pluses:- Experience working in a multi-entity environment.- Exposure to month-end close and financial reporting processes.- Knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements.- Experience supporting audits and compliance activities.BenefitsMedicalPTOHolidays
