Join Covert Buick GMC of Austin as a GM Apprentice Technician and kickstart your career in automotive service. In this hands-on role, you will work alongside experienced technicians to learn the skills necessary to diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles to the highest standards. This apprenticeship opportunity offers valuable training, real-world experience, and a pathway to becoming a certified GM technician.
Responsibilities- Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections
- Learn to operate diagnostic tools and follow GM repair procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Complete training modules and attend instructional workshops as required
- Communicate effectively with team members and service advisors
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of automotive systems and mechanics preferred
- Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to follow safety protocols and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be located in or willing to commute to Austin, TX
- Valid drivers license for at least 3 yrs
- GM dealership training/experience preferred but not required based on experience and skill level
- Competitive pay at $18.00 per hour, paid weekly
