The Admixture Technician plays a critical role within the pharmacy and clinical care team by preparing medications accurately and efficiently to support patient treatment. This position focuses on the technical aspects of sterile medication preparation, inventory management, and clean room operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. It offers an excellent opportunity for a Certified Pharmacy Technician to gain hands-on experience in IV admixture and oncology pharmacy practices through structured on-the-job training in an established specialty setting.

• Verify and prepare medications accurately in accordance with provider orders and established protocols.
• Prepare hazardous and non-hazardous medications in compliance with USP 797, USP 800, OSHA regulations, and internal policies.
• Utilize proper sterile technique while mixing medications under the hood in a clean room environment.
• Accurately label all medications prior to administration to ensure correct identification and dosing.
• Manage medication inventory by monitoring stock levels, rotating stock, and ensuring appropriate quantities are available.
• Receive and document incoming medication inventory, including verification of accuracy and proper storage.
• Review treatment schedules and assist with drug ordering to ensure timely availability of medications for patient care.
• Maintain clean room standards by following established sanitation procedures and environmental monitoring requirements.
• Coordinate with nurses, pharmacists, and providers to ensure timely preparation and delivery of medications.
• Respond appropriately to hazardous spills and emergency situations by following safety protocols and spill response procedures.
• Schedule and coordinate pharmaceutical waste disposal in accordance with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
• Maintain active Pharmacy Technician certification and complete all required training and continuing education.
• Adhere consistently to detailed preparation procedures with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Support a culture of safety and quality by following medication safety practices and reporting concerns as appropriate.
• Demonstrate a growth mindset by learning, mastering, and consistently applying complex technical processes.

• Active Pharmacy Technician certification.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience handling medications in a pharmacy or healthcare setting, such as retail pharmacy or physician dispensing.
• Ability to follow detailed preparation procedures consistently with a high degree of accuracy.
• Understanding of sterile technique and medication safety principles.
• Experience with inventory management and medication handling.
• Familiarity with USP 797 and USP 800 standards for sterile compounding and hazardous drugs.
• Strong mathematical aptitude to perform dosage calculations and verify measurements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of medication preparation.
• Strong concentration and focus, especially during repetitive, high-accuracy tasks.
• Ability to master complex processes and retain detailed information.
• Team-oriented and collaborative approach to working with pharmacists, nurses, and providers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues in medication preparation or inventory.

• IV admixture experience.
• Sterile compounding experience in a clean room environment.
• Hands-on experience working under USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines.
• Oncology pharmacy experience, particularly in admixture and infusion settings.
• Prior experience with inventory management in a pharmacy or healthcare environment.
• Experience working in a clean room or controlled environment.
• Demonstrated ability to memorize and retain detailed technical information.
• Enjoyment of learning and repeating complex technical processes.
• Comfort working with both hazardous and non-hazardous medications while following safety protocols.

This role is based in a pharmacy admixture and infusion environment that supports oncology and specialty care patients. The Admixture Technician works in a clean room setting, handling both hazardous and non-hazardous medications while collaborating closely with pharmacists, nurses, and providers. The environment requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and sterile compounding procedures, including compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and OSHA standards.This is a full-time position with rotating shifts. Weekday shifts typically include an opening shift from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, a mid shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and a closing shift from 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM. Weekend shifts generally run from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or approximately 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Every other weekend is required, and some holidays are included in the schedule. Technicians receive an additional 10% shift differential for weekend hours worked.The organization offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off (with PTO accrued at 1 hour for every 50 hours worked, totaling approximately 80 hours of PTO), 10 paid holidays, medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, a Health Savings Account (HSA), life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, an employee assistance program, and transportation benefits. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, OR.

The pay range for this position is $26.94 - $35.48/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
