Adjunct Instructor – Adult Echocardiography This position is a security-sensitive role requiring a satisfactory criminal history background check and, for males aged 18-25, registration with the Selective Service System. Position Summary Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. This continuous recruitment position adds applicants to a pool for future consideration. Primary duties include teaching adult echocardiography courses, facilitating student achievement of learning outcomes, mentoring, and maintaining a learning environment across face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, and dual‑credit modalities. Faculty are expected to adhere to College policies, provide timely feedback, assess student performance, attend meetings, complete required training, and fulfill additional related duties. Required Education At least an associate degree plus ARDMS or CCI registration in adult echocardiography. Transcripts, certificates, and/or licenses must be submitted with the application. Additional qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 6‑10 years of experience, Master’s with 11‑15 years, or Doctorate with 16+ years, or equivalent credentials. Required Experience Three (3) years of full‑time clinical experience as an adult cardiac sonographer. Preferred Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Preferred Experience Prior adult echocardiography or diagnostic medical sonography teaching experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach courses in the approved discipline and create an effective learning environment in all teaching modalities. Provide instruction that achieves specific learning outcomes and mentor students inside and outside the classroom. Engage in instructional preparation, provide timely feedback, and respond promptly to student communications. Assess student performance, submit final grades, and complete departmental and institutional evaluations. Maintain ethical, professional behavior and adhere to College policies and procedures. Attend adjunct faculty meetings, complete required training, and perform related duties as assigned.
