Position Information Title Title Assistant Assessment Specialist Position Description BSU’s Children’s Physical Developmental Clinic ( CPDC ) is a nationally recognized academic program that fosters professional development, service learning, and leadership development. The CPDC provides students from all majors opportunity to work with children and youth with disabilities, ages 18 months to 18 years. The Assistant Assessment Specialist will assist with the assessment of participants in the Test of Gross Motor Development ( TGMD ) program. Responsibilities Conduct Test of Gross Motor Development ( TGMD ) assessments with participants in the CPDC program. Meet with students before and after assessments to review goals, objectives, and developmental needs. Document assessment results, observations, and evaluations accurately and promptly. Assist with organizing and maintaining assessment records and related documentation. Support program staff with other assessment-related tasks as needed. Eligibility requirements: Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester. Preferred Qualifications Experience with assessment tool ( TGMD ) and knowledge of the CPDC program. Experience working with children, especially in athletic, recreational, educational, or camp settings Experience supporting children with physical, developmental, intellectual, sensory, or behavioral disabilities Knowledge of inclusive recreation practices Understanding of common disabilities and how they may affect communication, mobility, behavior, or safety Ability to communicate effectively with children using different communication styles and abilities Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, therapists, teachers, and other staff Physical Demands Special Conditions for Eligibility Please be aware that employment at Bridgewater State University is contingent upon completion of a successful background check.
