Job Description

Purchase furniture, fixtures and equipment for hotels at wholesale from manufacturers in Vietnam for export to hotels and to hotel chains in international markets. Expand supply base to include additional manufacturers of hotel furniture, fixtures and equipment in Vietnam. Analyze manufacturing industries in Vietnam which produce furniture, fixtures and equipment for hotels, in order to determine the feasibility of buying products; to estimate manufacturers’ costs; to analyze manufacturers’ operations to determine factors that affect costs and prices; and to establish price objectives for contract transactions. Negotiate contracts, including prices, discount terms, and transportation arrangements with manufacturers. Examine, select, order, and purchase products consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, availability, and other factors. Maintain and update knowledge of price trends and manufacturing processes in the hotel furniture, fixture and equipment industries of Vietnam. Recommend mark-up rates, mark-down rates, and merchandise selling prices. Recommend the use of alternative parts, materials, or manufacturing methods to reduce costs. Monitor and analyze sales records, trends, and economic conditions to anticipate hotels’ wholesale purchasing patterns, company sales, and needed inventories. Obtain information to anticipate and fulfill customer needs and preferences by studying marketing trends and trends in furniture, fixtures and equipment in the hotel industry, by conferring with sales and purchasing personnel, and by conferring with customer management and representatives. Communicate and collaborate with manufacturers and customers to determine desired products, to ensure supplies of in-demand products, to develop new products, and to improve or modify existing products. Monitor consumer preferences and hotel industry trends to determine the best ways to introduce new products. Conduct meetings with executive and marketing management, with sales personnel, and with customers’ representatives, to introduce new products. Consult with the executive, marketing, and purchasing management of hotels and hotel chains about budgets, delivery timelines, and goods to be purchased. Monitor competitors’ sales activities by following their news and advertisements in print and online media, and through communications with persons in the furniture, fixtures and equipment industries and in the hotel industry. Compare transportation and shipping alternatives to determine the most rapid, economical, and dependable options. Review and audit inspection of products to determine quality, value, and compliance with contract terms. Authorize payment of invoices or returns of products.
