JH Contracting LLC is a heavy civil and utility construction company based in China Spring, TX, working on municipal, water/utility, and commercial projects across Central Texas.
Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced CDL Class A driver to operate an end dump truck hauling aggregate, dirt, base material, and other bulk materials to and from active construction sites. This is a hands-on role supporting our field crews on heavy civil and utility projects. Haul truck (lowboy/RGN) experience is a plus, as this role will also be responsible for moving equipment between sites as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate end dump/haul truck on and off job sites, including rural roads and active construction zones
- Load and haul materials such as dirt, rock, flex base, and aggregate
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIR)
- Coordinate with foremen and equipment operators for efficient loading/unloading
- Maintain accurate load tickets and haul logs
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations
- Perform basic truck maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly
- Occasionally assist with general labor duties on site as needed
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license (required)
- Clean driving record; must meet DOT physical and drug testing requirements
- Prior experience hauling with an end dump or similar heavy equipment trailer
- Experience on construction, utility, or road/highway job sites preferred
- Ability to navigate active job sites and work around heavy equipment safely
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work varying hours based on project schedules
- Must be able to pass a background drug screening
