Senior Attorney: Compensation and Benefits - Qualified Plans

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Senior Attorney specializing in Compensation and Benefits to join their team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in advising on tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans. Duties Advise on ERISA compliance, plan design, and administration. Counsel on benefit plan issues in mergers and acquisitions. Draft plan documents and disclosures. Conduct compliance testing and manage IRS and Department of Labor filings. Handle audits and correction matters. Requirements Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Experience with ESOP transactions and ERISA plan asset rules preferred. Excellent academic credentials. Superior writing, oral communication, and analytical skills. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. Certifications Bar admission in good standing. Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
