Job Title: Travel RN - SICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current acute care hospital ICU experience License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital ICU experience - ACLS, BLS & NIH certifications Description: This position is for a travel RN in a Surgical ICU. The unit has a total of 26 beds and 15 staff members. Staff consists of 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, and 1 Patient Care Tech on the day shift. The night shift has the same staffing arrangement. Patient ratios are generally 1:2, with a 1:1 ratio for high acuity patients, including post-CABG cases. The equipment utilized includes balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia devices, and ECMO. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates should be driven, organized, efficient, and possess a positive attitude. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in traveling to large trauma facilities and TNCC certification. Typical procedures performed include managing trauma patients, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and general post-surgical ICU care, as well as chest tubes, central lines, and medication drips.
