About us

Duero Solutions is the U.S. operation of Grupo Duero, an engineering and construction group with a track record executing large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects in Latin America — hydroelectric plant modernization, high-voltage substations, and railway infrastructure. We are now bringing that same project discipline to a simpler, high-demand service in the U.S. market: post-construction cleaning and operational site support for general contractors and commercial and light industrial builders.

We are opening in New Jersey and hiring our first local team member. This is a ground-floor role: you will not be inheriting an account list. You will help build one.

The role

We are looking for someone who is comfortable on an active job site and equally comfortable walking into a contractor's trailer to introduce a service. In the first 90 days, this role is roughly 70% business development and 30% operations. As contracts are signed, that balance shifts toward supervision and quality control.

You will be our eyes, hands, and face in New Jersey, working directly with the company's leadership.

What you'll do

Business development (primary, first 90 days)

• Build and work a prospect list of general contractors, commercial and light industrial contractors, warehouse and facility managers within a defined operating radius.
• Make in-person visits to active job sites and contractor offices; cold outreach by phone and email.
• Walk sites, take measurements and photos, define scope, and gather the information needed to price a job accurately.
• Prepare and present quotes using our templates and follow up until a decision is reached.
• Report weekly on prospects contacted, quotes issued, and pipeline status.

Operations (grows as contracts are signed)

• Coordinate and supervise vetted local subcontractors and cleaning crews on site.
• Run quality control using checklists and photographic reports; manage punch-list items to closeout.
• Serve as the client's point of contact on site — resolve issues before they become complaints.
• Confirm site access, badging, safety orientation, and insurance documentation requirements with each general contractor.
• Source and vet local subcontractors and suppliers of consumables and equipment.

What you need

• Legally authorized to work in the United States (we do not sponsor visas for this position).
• Professional-level English, spoken and written — you will deal directly with superintendents, project managers, and clients.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed.
• Willing and able to be on site early — job sites start between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m.
• Able to pass a background check, which many commercial general contractors require for site access.
• Comfortable with cold outreach and rejection. A significant part of the first 30 days is knocking on doors.
• Organized about evidence: photos, checklists, written reports. This is a core part of what we sell.

What will set you apart

• Spanish in addition to English. Not required, but a strong advantage — much of the labor force on the sites we serve is Spanish-speaking, and bilingual supervision is part of what we offer clients.
• Two or more years around commercial or industrial construction in any capacity — project coordinator, assistant superintendent, expediter, field engineer, safety coordinator, or subcontractor management.
• Working knowledge of how a job closes out: punch lists, change orders, certificates of insurance, lien waivers, closeout documentation.
• Existing relationships with general contractors or construction managers in northern or central New Jersey.
• Prior experience in facility services, janitorial, or post-construction cleaning sales.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (we will pay for it if you don't have it).
• Comfort with basic estimating — square footage, crew-hours, production rates.

Who would be a great fit

This role could suit an early- or mid-career construction professional looking to grow into an operations leadership position, or a highly experienced construction professional looking for a flexible opportunity to help build a new operation.

For the latter, we would value someone who can bring years of field and industry experience to help establish contractor relationships, build and train the initial team, develop strong operating systems, and ultimately help transition day-to-day responsibilities as the operation becomes established.

Compensation

Part-time rate: USD 40.00 – 45.00 per hour, depending on experience.

The position starts at approximately 20 hours per week. Upon conversion to full-time — anticipated within six months as the operation grows — the role moves to an annual base salary of USD 85,000 – 95,000, plus commission and the full benefits package described below.

Additional compensation (part-time and full-time)

• Commission on signed contracts from day one, paid on contracts that meet the company's minimum margin threshold. Structure and rates provided during the interview process.
• Milestone bonus on the first signed contract.
• Mileage reimbursement at the current IRS standard rate, plus reimbursement of approved travel and client-entertainment expenses.
• Company-provided phone plan or stipend, tablet or laptop, PPE, and business cards.
• Paid sick leave in accordance with the New Jersey Earned Sick Leave Law, accrued from the first day of employment.

Benefits (upon conversion to full-time)

The following are available once the position converts to full-time status. They are not offered during the part-time period, which is why the part-time hourly rate is set above market.

This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor engagement, at both part-time and full-time status.

Location and schedule

Field-based across a defined New Jersey operating radius, with administrative work done remotely. No office reporting requirement. Schedule is flexible but must align with construction site hours; expect early mornings and occasional evening or weekend closeout work when a project is turning over.
