FX Trader - South Portland, ME
$400kMaverick Currencies
Maverick Currencies, founded in 1997, is looking for entry-friendly FX Trader candidates based in South Portland, ME. You do not need prior trading experience or a finance background to apply. This is a fully remote opportunity, and we built our training pipeline specifically so people can start a serious trading career from where they already live, without relocating to a financial hub or taking on the cost of living that comes with it.
South Portland offers a practical, affordable base for building this kind of career. You keep your current community, your current cost structure, and you build trading skills on a flexible schedule that fits around the rest of your life.
What the role involves
- Complete our structured training program covering currency market fundamentals, risk management, and trading strategy
- Trade with a funded account, with funding levels that can scale up to $400,000 based on demonstrated performance
- Set your own hours and trading schedule
- Operate independently, developing your own trading decisions and approach over time
How compensation works
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. It is not a salaried or hourly job, and there is no base pay. Compensation is a profit split ranging from 65% to 90%, paid out based on your trading performance. Profits are never guaranteed, and this role carries real financial risk: if your trading is not profitable, you earn no income from it. We are upfront about this because we want candidates who understand exactly what they're signing up for.
What we provide
- Structured training to build your trading foundation
- Access to a funded trading account
- A flexible, remote setup that works for traders based in South Portland or anywhere else
Maverick Currencies does not direct or supervise your day-to-day trading decisions. You are building and running your own trading practice, with our training and funded account structure behind you. If you're disciplined, coachable, and ready to put in the work from South Portland, we'd like to hear from you.
No prior trading experience required. Must be disciplined, coachable, and committed to learning rule-based trading systems.
