AmeriCorps Health Educator - School Based Health (On-site)

Job Location: Erie Lakeview School-Based Health Center – 4015 N. Ashland – Chicago, IL 60613 Salary: $30,000.00 per year Member Benefits Living allowance of up to $30,000 Segal Education Award upon successful completion of service Fully covered healthcare benefits through AmeriCorps, if eligible Childcare assistance, if eligible Student loan forbearance and interest benefits, if eligible Professional development and leadership opportunities This is a year-long, full-time AmeriCorps position requiring completion of a minimum of 1,700 service hours. The work schedule for this position is aligned with Erie’s hours of operations. Responsibilities Deliver health education and wellness programming to high school students. Provide one‑on‑one nutrition and health coaching support. Coordinate student access to vision and dental services. Plan and facilitate health promotion events and outreach activities. Support youth engagement initiatives and advisory boards. Participate in community outreach and resource navigation activities. Qualifications Education: Required : High school diploma or equivalent. Required Skills & Knowledge Strong verbal and written communication skills. Desire and ability to present information to groups. Current CPR Certification. U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident. Ability to meet AmeriCorps background check requirements. Preferred Skills & Experience Experience in community health, education, or social services. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. EPIC experience.
