Lead Maintenance Technician

Job Details: Chelsea, MA 02150 • Full Time • High School • $40.00 - $42.00 hourly • Day shift. Category: Facilities. As an hourly Lead Maintenance Technician, you handle the ongoing facility maintenance and repairs to keep the company’s multifamily property operating and appearing at its best. Responsibilities Use 5+ years of property maintenance experience to address work orders before they become major problems. Apply technical certifications such as HVAC, CPO, electrical or plumbing expertise to critical repairs. Proactively maintain routine maintenance and cleanliness of resident amenities including pool, clubhouse, and general property. Assist in day‑to‑day maintenance activities, set tone and standard for work, and help other technicians with work orders. Manage the Make‑Ready board to keep turnover work on schedule and ensure grounds upkeep. Engage in difficult conversations with employees and residents, resolve concerns, and communicate effectively. Use EPA certification for handling chemicals, train team in safety procedures, and maintain a safety‑first approach. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; minimum 5 years relevant experience in property management or hospitality. One year of supervisory experience and one or more technical certifications (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, CPO). Experience in general building maintenance, light carpentry, or similar trades. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license and own tools. Strong communication, organizational, time‑management, and safety awareness. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, and work in various weather conditions. Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Physical Requirements Work hours Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with scheduled on‑call hours and occasional weekends. Travel occasionally by company‑owned or personal vehicle. Lift or move items up to 25pounds routinely, up to 50pounds occasionally; use tools and equipment; stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, stoop, kneel.
