Ambulatory Emergency Dept Technician (NA-C/MA-C/EMT)

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as an Emergency Department Technician. This part-time role (0.6 FTE) offers 12-hour shifts from 0600 to 1830, providing direct patient care and support within a busy emergency setting. You will work closely under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Physicians, contributing to high-quality patient experiences in a critical access hospital environment.

Job Summary

As an Emergency Dept Technician, you will perform a variety of clinical and technical tasks including CPR, vital signs monitoring, cardiac telemetry, EKG acquisition, wound care, splinting, bladder scanning, and assisting with procedures. If certified as a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy, you may also perform phlebotomy and glucose testing. You will assist with patient triage, transport, personal care, and comfort measures, ensuring patients feel supported and safe throughout their visit.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C), Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program with active certification.
  • Two years of experience in patient care settings preferred, especially in acute care, emergency departments, or as a first responder.
  • Telemetry experience is a plus.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Active Nursing Assistant (NA-C), Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C), or EMT certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification required within six months if applicable.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of patient care practices and ability to maintain competencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach.
  • Ability to manage difficult situations professionally while maintaining patient privacy.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records, telemetry equipment, and office technology.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
