CNC Lathe Machinist position - (Job Shop Experience Required) Wagner Machine Inc., a family-owned precision machining shop in Norton, Ohio, has been proudly serving customers since 1957. We’re looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist who know how to think, problem-solve, and take pride in their craft — not just push buttons. This is a true job shop environment — no production lines or mindless repetition. You’ll set up and run a wide variety of jobs, from one-off prototypes to short-run batches of 20–50 pieces. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T. Proficiency in setup, tooling, offsets, and running CNC lathes and mills. Job Types: Full-time 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Duties & Responsibilities: Set-up, edit, and operate CNC lathes to produce finished parts. Develop a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications. Manual lathe programming experience preferred. Operate cranes and forklift. Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Monitor machine tool during production to ensure it is functioning properly. Follow print specifications. Follow work orders as required. Follow all ISO and AS quality processes, procedures, and standards for job tasks. Must keep work area and machines clean and orderly. Qualifications: Ability to use precision instruments including micrometers, calipers, and indicators. Experience with setup and operation within a job shop environment. Mechanical aptitude and ability to apply geometric and trig functions to solve machining calculations. Knowledgeable of all machine functions as well as G & M codes to evaluate new programs. Understand and apply precision measuring instruments and other technical documentation. Be familiar with cutting conditions and the necessary work holding requirements to properly support and locate a part. Ability to read/interpret prints and understand geometric tolerances. Physical Demands: Employees are regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
