Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of inpatient medical surgical experience License: State or Compact license must be in hand at the time of submission Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Recent Epic experience (within 6 months) - Isolation precautions and PPE experience - Knowledge of nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management - Peripheral line care and management experience Description: This position involves providing patient care to a medical surgical population. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient ratio of 1:6. Weekend shifts are required. The nurse may float to units of equal or lesser acuity. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Patient age groups encompass adults and geriatrics. The unit has a daily census of approximately 37 patients and features 44 beds. The nurse will work with a dedicated charge nurse, patient care technicians, and transporters. Meals are available at a discounted rate. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills. Nurses will provide care in a centralized telemetry monitored environment. Patient diagnoses may vary, and the nurse should be prepared for a diverse workload. All required certifications and competencies must be completed prior to beginning the position.
