Registered Nurse (RN) - Special Care Nursery Level 2

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Special Care Nursery Level 2 to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care to neonates, including full-term, early-term, and pre-term infants.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Special Care Level 2 Nursery
• Number of Beds: 8
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 to 1:3
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech/GE Centricity

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to infants in a Special Care Nursery setting.
• Attend all deliveries and initiate and manage NRP resuscitation efforts as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician's orders, including IV antibiotics and Bubble CPAP.
• Conduct assessments and monitor neonates for complications such as NAS/NOWS and TTN.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver optimal care for patients and their families.
• Perform feeding through OG/NG tubes as required.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: NRP, STABLE, BLS
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Level 2 nursery or higher NICU setting.
• Required Skills: Must have experience in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery or higher.
• Preferred Skills: Experience in initiating and running NRP resuscitation.

Working Conditions

• Shift: Day Shift (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts per month
• Float Requirement: Possible float to Mother/Baby Postpartum

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Royal Blue/Hospital issued OR scrubs
• Unacceptable Attire: No hoodies or sweatshirts
