Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California’s most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. We implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services, and health care sectors.

Department Summary

Brilliant Corners recently decided to elevate our Operations Team within the Los Angeles Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool (FHSP) to a division within Housing Services. The new division will support fiscal intermediary and contracting work across our portfolios.

 

The Program Operations team currently serves with payment processing of monthly rental subsidies, utilities, move-in assistance, and other client assistance. Additionally, the Program Operations team will improve workflows for rent collection (where relevant), unit closeouts, and recertifications. The team will collaborate with the Data & Technology team, Finance team, and Program Directors to standardize payment processing, program reporting and invoicing, rent roll integration between our programmatic and financial management systems (Salesforce and Intacct), and other automations and process improvements. The team sits at the intersection of program implementation, data, and finance—and always embodies Brilliant Corners’ “customer service approach” with both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Program Operations, the Operations Manager will manage all ''back-end" functions of the Program Operations team, which is a combination of administrative, fiscal, and data management processes. The Operations Manager will work collaboratively with Tenancy Supports, Housing Acquisitions, Data & Technology, Finance and Administrative staff to optimize payments processing, tracking, and reporting with a goal of streamlining workflows and establishing practices that support the scaling of homeless services programs throughout the state. Additionally, the Operations Manager oversees teams responsible for Billing/Accounts Receivables, Unit Close-outs, Data Management, and is tasked with managing and providing professional development opportunities to the Operations Supervisors who, in turn, are responsible for managing a total of about 20 support staff. Given the tremendous opportunity for professional growth, the position is ideal for an emerging leader who is strategic, innovative, a systems builder and committed to social justice.

Requirements

Professional Experience

• At least one year building and managing a team.
• 2+ years in the supportive housing field or a similar social justice field.

• Experience developing systems to improve operations for a social service program.
• Demonstrated management and team-building experience.
• Ability to clearly articulate program goals and develop tools and metrics for staff to achieve those goals.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, communication, and planning skills.
• Can manage multiple deadlines efficiently and simultaneously.
• Solid team leader who is able to work well collaboratively on projects and under pressure.

Physical Requirements

Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.

 

Salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $82,000.00 annually. This position is being offered at $80,000 - $82,000 annually.
