Director of Strategic Communications

The client is seeking a Director to join its communications, media relations, and public affairs team. This role supports a broad range of clients across many different industries and involves crafting clear, compelling content for national and regional audiences. The position is designed for a highly skilled, creative writer who can produce materials such as press releases, long-form thought leadership, and other strategic communications assets with confidence and precision. The Director will develop and execute strategic communications, media relations, and public affairs plans; build a strong understanding of each client’s business, products/services, competitors, influencers, and markets; and serve as the day-to-day lead for multiple client accounts and relationships. Responsibilities include providing strategic messaging guidance, pitching and securing impactful media coverage, drafting, reviewing, and approving a wide variety of communications materials, and delivering excellent account management while maintaining strong client partnerships. This is a senior, ownership-oriented leadership role with responsibility for running accounts, setting strategy, and being the primary point of contact. The Director will manage, mentor, and develop a team that includes Managers, Senior Associates, Associates, and Junior Associates, ensuring regular feedback and support for career growth, and will oversee clean handoffs and clear communication between clients and account teams.
