Job Summary Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Entity / Organization Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Work Details Employee, Regular; Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36; Work Shift: Day (United States of America); 3 twelve‑hour shifts per week; Hourly pay type, Health‑28 grade. Compensation $30,000 Sign‑On Bonus available to new hires with experience. Minimum Training and Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Registered Nurse license by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. NIHSS preferred but not required. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to stand, sit, walk continuously and to climb stairs (infrequent). Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors in temperature extremes; work from elevated or confined spaces (frequent). Manual handling: lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted; lift and lower 50 lbs. from 36 in. or 25 lbs. overhead (infrequent). Visual: maintain 20/40 corrected vision; depth perception and peripheral vision. Hearing: maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Fine and gross motor skills; ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions. Stress tolerance and ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and in a latex‑safe environment. For selected positions, maintain good olfactory function and qualify for respirator use.
