Employees are not expected to routinely cover every location listed. About the Position Omni Wound Physicians is seeking one to two dependable, credentialed Field Assistants to support healthcare providers during mobile wound-care visits in patient homes, skilled nursing facilities, residential care settings, clinics, and other authorized healthcare locations. This position is a strong opportunity for credentialed healthcare professionals who want to expand their practical knowledge of wound care, infection prevention, medical supplies, documentation, patient support, and mobile healthcare operations while working alongside experienced providers. The Field Assistant is a provider-support position and is not an independent clinical role. All duties must remain within the employee’s verified credential, training, competency, supervision requirements, assigned care setting, and lawful scope of practice. Key ResponsibilitiesReport on time to the designated provider meeting location for each scheduled shift.Accompany the assigned provider throughout the scheduled mobile patient route.Prepare, organize, monitor, and secure approved wound-care supplies and equipment.Support visit setup and provider-directed dressing-change workflows when permitted by the employee’s credential, training, supervision, and assigned care setting.Assist with patient positioning, comfort, and other approved support activities within the employee’s training and assigned responsibilities.At the provider’s direction, capture and securely upload wound photographs using company-approved devices and systems after applicable authorization and consent requirements have been satisfied.Complete accurate, objective, and timely provider-directed, administrative, logistical, scheduling, supply, and photography documentation.Assist with appointment confirmation, route coordination, navigation, and communication with patients, caregivers, facilities, pharmacies, home health agencies, hospice agencies, and office staff.Relay provider-authorized information without independently changing, interpreting, or adding to the provider’s instructions.Follow HIPAA, patient-privacy, information-security, infection-control, personal protective equipment, safety, facility, timekeeping, and incident-reporting requirements.Promptly report patient-safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, privacy incidents, injuries, supply issues, or other significant events in accordance with applicable law and company procedures.Perform other reasonable support duties consistent with the position and the employee’s lawful scope of practice. Clinical Limitations Field Assistants may not independently: Diagnose, assess, or stage wounds;Establish, select, or change a treatment plan;Prescribe or recommend medications, dressings, or treatments;Perform sharp or surgical debridement;Conduct independent clinical triage;Interpret symptoms, photographs, test results, or clinical findings;Provide independent clinical advice or patient education; orPerform duties outside their credential, verified training, assigned responsibilities, or lawful scope of practice. Medication administration is not a routine responsibility of this position. It may occur only when specifically assigned and legally permitted by the employee’s individual credential, documented training, provider authorization, required supervision, care setting, facility rules, and OWP protocol. California Medical Assistants are unlicensed supportive personnel and may not independently diagnose, treat, or perform tasks requiring clinical assessment. Permissible tasks must be routine, provider-authorized, appropriately supervised, and supported by required training. Required Healthcare Credential — One Required Only applicants who currently possess at least one of the following qualifying healthcare credentials will be considered:Active and unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse license;Active California Certified Nurse Assistant certificate;Active Basic Life Support or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment start date. Active California Home Health Aide certificate;Active California Emergency Medical Technician certification;Current Medical Assistant certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization accepted by OWP; orCurrent Surgical Technologist certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization accepted by OWP. The qualifying credential must be:Active and current;Verifiable;In good standing;Unexpired; andUnrestricted or otherwise free from any limitation that would prevent the safe and lawful performance of the position. OWP will verify credentials before employment begins, and employees must maintain their qualifying credential throughout employment. Education A college, nursing, or medical degree is not required. Applicants must have completed the education, training, examination, or other requirements necessary to obtain their qualifying healthcare credential. A college degree, healthcare coursework, or experience without an active qualifying credential does not satisfy this requirement. Wound-care experience is helpful but not required. This position provides an opportunity to expand practical familiarity with mobile wound-care services but does not confer a new license, certification, or expanded legal scope of practice. Additional QualificationsAt least one year of experience in healthcare, home care, skilled nursing, long-term care, a healthcare facility, or a mobile practice is preferred.Ability to communicate in spoken and written English at the level reasonably necessary to understand provider instructions, support patient safety, complete documentation, and communicate with patients and team members.Spanish, Mandarin, or other language skills are preferred for some patient routes but are not required unless specifically identified for an assignment.Strong organization, punctuality, communication, professionalism, confidentiality, and time-management skills.Ability to use mobile applications, secure messaging, scheduling systems, and other basic workplace technology.Current CPR or Basic Life Support certification is preferred.Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to move through patient homes and healthcare facilities; stand and walk for portions of a shift; bend, kneel, and reach; assist with approved patient-positioning activities; and occasionally lift or carry medical supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Part-Time Schedule This position is offered on a part-time basis only. Field Assistants will generally be scheduled for approximately two to three shifts per week when assignments are available. The actual number, length, days, start times, and locations of shifts may vary based on:Patient census;Provider schedules;Geographic alignment;Facility access;Available patient routes;Employee availability and qualifications; andBusiness and patient-care needs. No minimum number of shifts or weekly hours is guaranteed. Schedules may include weekday daytime routes, early-morning meeting times, routes of varying duration, and occasional weekend assignments. Candidates must be available for the full duration of each shift they accept. Transportation and Meeting Location OWP will provide a designated provider meeting location for each scheduled shift. The meeting location will be fixed for that particular shift but may vary from one shift to another based on the assigned provider and patient route. Applicants must:Have reliable transportation to and from the designated meeting location;Be able to report on time to meeting locations within their accepted service area; andPromptly communicate any issue that may affect timely arrival. Ownership of a personal vehicle is not required when another reliable transportation method allows the employee to report safely and on time. A driver’s license is not a general requirement for this position because the Field Assistant will generally accompany the provider in an authorized vehicle after reporting to the meeting location. California limits driver’s-license requirements in job postings when driving is not an expected job function or another reliable transportation method would suffice. Travel occurring during the workday after the employee reports to the designated meeting location will be recorded and paid as required by applicable law and company policy. Independent lifting or transferring of patients is not a routine requirement of this position.Communicate and receive information necessary to follow provider instructions, interact with patients and caregivers, and respond to workplace and patient-safety concerns, with or without assistive devices.Wear required personal protective equipment and work around wounds, blood or other bodily fluids, communicable illnesses, medical odors, cleaning products, and other conditions commonly encountered in patient-care environments.Maintain the physical stamina necessary to accompany a provider through multiple patient visits and repeated transitions between vehicles and care locations.
