The Project Engineer helps bring automated storage projects from concept into execution. The role leads the technical engineering effort from project kickoff through site handover, ensuring the solution sold to the customer can be successfully built, installed, and integrated.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical point of contact for integrator and end-user engineering teams on assigned projects.
• Participate in internal and external project kickoff meetings.
• Review customer and internal technical documentation and translate sales concepts into detailed project layouts and approval drawings.
• Review AutoCAD layouts for clearances, interferences, building constraints, and other conditions that could impact installation.
• Work within AutoCAD, including the use of dynamic blocks, to review and update project layouts.
• Coordinate the creation of assembly drawings and PE-stamped drawings.
• Provide technical information needed for order processing, production, installation, and commissioning.
• Coordinate technical requirements with Project Management, Sales, R&D, Supply Chain, vendors, and other engineering teams.
• Work with R&D when special components or modifications are required for a project.
• Support Project Management with technical information needed for installation and contractor coordination.
• Process project changes and communicate cost or technical impacts to Sales and Project Management.
• Collaborate with Electrical Controls and Software Engineering on system integration requirements.
• Support Site Managers and installation teams with technical questions and issues.
• Maintain project documentation.
• Occasionally visit customer sites for measurements, inspections, installer walkthroughs, or technical support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience preferred.
• Experience in material handling, warehouse automation, ASRS, or related systems strongly preferred.
• AutoCAD experience required, including the ability to work with dynamic blocks.
• Ability to interpret 2D layouts and understand how systems and equipment will fit together in the field.
• Strong technical problem-solving and project coordination skills.
• Strong organization and ability to manage projects independently.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Practical:

• Travel is limited, generally less than 10% .
• Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
• The team works closely with European colleagues, making morning availability important for collaboration.
• Typical business hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST , with some flexibility to start earlier.
