Office Clerk

The Office Clerk shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Writes, types, or enters information into computer, using keyboard, to prepare correspondence, bills, statements, receipts, checks, other documents, copying information from one record to another. Proofreads records or forms. Counts, weigh, or measures materials. Sorts and files records. Addresses envelopes or packages. Stuffs envelopes by hand. Answers telephone, conveys messages, and runs errands. Stamps, sorts, and distributes the mail. Stamps or numbers forms by hand or machine.

Required Technical Skills:

• Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of PC functions.
• Proficiency with a ten-key calculator.
• Previous experience with data entry.
• Ability to work well with numbers.
• Ability to have good phone etiquette.

Required Soft Skills:

• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Coachable and willing to learn.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements:

(S)he will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. Will be required to lift and move large amounts of paperwork (boxes of files). Will be required to stoop, bend, climb stairs, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data. Must be able to sit at a desk and to do simple grasping of a pen, or pencil, for long periods of time.

Educations, Certifications and Experience:

The following is preferred:

• Strong written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office Experience.
• Proficient in typing.
• Previous experience in using database applications.
• Manipulating/ creating Excel spreadsheet
• Other:

The Office Clerk is an hourly position and reports to the Office Manager.

Standard Hours: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with an 8 hour shift (subject to management's discretion). Working overtime may be required.
