Senior Financial Analyst
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial planning, analysis, reporting, and decision support across the organization. This position plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, operational performance analysis, grant financial management, value-based care reporting, pharmacy financial analytics, and regulatory reporting.
The Senior Financial Analyst partners closely with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Clinical Operations, Pharmacy, Population Health, and Executive Leadership to identify financial opportunities, improve operational performance, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decision-making. The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and serves as a key contributor to the organization's financial sustainability and growth.
As a member of the health center's finance team, the senior financial analyst will fulfill the following key functions and responsibilities towards the financial development and stability of CCI:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual operating and capital budget development.
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts and variance analyses.
- Analyze financial performance and identify trends impacting revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and operational decision-making.
- Prepare monthly management reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
- Monitor provider productivity, encounter volume, and operational performance metrics.
- Assist leadership in evaluating new programs, service lines, and growth opportunities.
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting analyses as required.
- Perform account reconciliations related to assigned areas of responsibility.
- Investigate and explain budget-to-actual variances.
- Support external audits and financial reporting requirements.
Grant Financial Management
- Prepare and review grant budgets, financial reports, and reimbursement requests.
- Coordinate preparation of Federal Financial Reports (FFR), grant closeouts, and related reporting requirements.
- Monitor grant expenditures for compliance with federal, state, and grantor requirements.
- Support grant managers and program leaders with financial analysis and reporting.
- Assist with grant audits and compliance reviews.
Pharmacy & Ancillary Services Analytics
- Perform financial analysis of pharmacy operations, including 340B programs, retail pharmacy, and contract pharmacy arrangements.
- Analyze pharmacy margins, inventory trends, prescription volumes, and reimbursement performance.
- Support pharmacy budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Prepare financial analyses related to new pharmacy programs and service expansions.
Value-Based Care & Revenue Analytics
- Perform reconciliation and analysis of value-based care programs and incentive payments.
- Monitor quality incentive performance, shared savings arrangements, and risk-based contracts.
- Collaborate with Revenue Cycle and Population Health teams to validate performance metrics and financial outcomes.
- Analyze payer reimbursement trends and revenue cycle performance indicators.
Regulatory Reporting & Compliance
- Assist with UDS reporting and related financial data submissions.
- Support Medicare Cost Report preparation and other healthcare regulatory reporting.
- Ensure financial reporting complies with HRSA, grant, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation supporting regulatory reporting processes.

- Assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of financial internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and financial processes.
- Support organizational compliance initiatives and corrective action plans.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and reporting documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a finance business partner to operational departments.
- Coordinate financial reporting and analysis requests across departments.
- Provide financial education and support to department leaders.
- Participate in strategic projects and organizational initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong financial analysis and analytical modeling skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and analysis.
- Maintain supporting documentation for financial reports and reconciliations.
- Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Identify and report financial risks and control deficiencies.
- Support audit requests and regulatory reviews.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related field) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting experience.
- Healthcare, FQHC, hospital, physician practice, or nonprofit healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience with grant management and federal reporting preferred.
- Experience with value-based care programs, healthcare reimbursement, or pharmacy operations preferred.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling required.
- Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems preferred.
